A powerful application of microcalorimetry involves stepping through temperatures to determine the "take off" temperature and kinetics of polymorph conversions.  Once 90 C was reached the process of conversion from form I to form II took place spontaneously coming to completion in about 10 hours.  Note the excellent repeatability of the two runs made.

The results here show that a small impurity of form II decreased the "take off" temperature and accelerated the conversion process ("seeding").
